THE LIFESTYLE OF FINDING YOURSELF UNIMPORTANT 3 – WHEN BEING CURSED, SLANDERED, OR HUMILIATED

If we consider ourselves important, then we will be defensive, ashamed and try to justify, argue, and fight back. Some people get too angry that they hit or even kill ones who humiliated themselves. You see, the problem becomes worse, and we feel more insecure and make more mistakes just because we consider ourselves important.

Few can calm down or feel indifferent when being insulted. Only those who practice and reach the level of finding themselves unimportant and always acknowledge their faults can stay calm when cursed. If you are told, “You face is beautiful, but your back is scary. Often it makes our blood boil. But if you gently said, “You don’t know that my mind is even worse.” That is, you didn’t feel angry but was still humble and didn’t talk back to the person who insulted you. Those who practice and reach such a level will suffer less. However, they haven’t become saints yet. Saints always feel secure even in terrible situations.

Here is a more difficult problem. What if someone insulted you, “You look like a dog” Let observe your mind and see what is arising. If you suddenly get severely abused, what will you react? It’s not sure if you can solve this problem thoroughly.

If in this situation, you sincerely said, “Yes, I also feel I’m like a dog, then no more curse words would be spoken. That is, you accepted someone’s scolding because you no longer considered yourself significant. It sounds funny, but it’s not easy to do. If anyone can always find and admit his faults because he doesn’t see himself important, he will have a feeling of peace and happiness that he hasn’t had before.
